The typeface that inspired this poster was invented by Adrian Frutiger in 1976. After researching Frutiger I found out that the typeface was used in airports, highways, hospitals, and anywhere signage had to be very visible. Because of how legible the font is it was extremely popular. I knew I wanted to incorporate a sense of movement and direction into my poster to represent the types of things Frutiger was used for. I wanted arrows, curves (to represent how curvilinear and round the letters of the typeface were), and an overall clean and non-chaotic feel.
